چکیده

In this paper, a number of physical phenomena taking place at the interaction of a crystallographically uniaxial ferrite resonator (UFR) with a semiconductor element, such as a Hall-effect transducer (HET), are analyzed. The UFR in this study is in a direct contact with an unpackaged HET. The interaction is studied in the vicinity of the ferromagnetic resonance in the UFR. The analytical model based on the combination of the problem of interaction of an arbitrarily orientated and shaped UFR with electromagnetic field of a multimode transmission line (waveguide) and thermal balance equations is proposed. A number of thermo/electro/magnetic phenomena that cause a voltage additional to that of the Hall-effect in the HET are analyzed. It is shown that this additional voltage is mainly due to Nernst-Ettingshausen thermo-magnetic effect. Some experimental results in 8-mm waveband are presented. This structure may serve as a frequency-selective primary transducer for detection and measurement of microwave (or millimeter-wave) power. 2 Koledintseva and Kitaitsev

Frequency-selective Power Transducers “Hexagonal Ferrite Resonator—Semiconductor Element”

The transducers studied herein allow for frequency-selective measurement of mm-wave power parameters. Frequency selectivity is assured by a monocrystalline hexagonal ferrite resonator (HFR). The HFR is in direct contact with a semiconductor element (SE)—an unpackaged Hall-element, or a chip transistor (or diode). Power absorbed by the HFR at the ferromagnetic resonance converts to heat, and the...

Damage Behavior in Modern Automotive High Strength Dual Phase Steels During Uniaxial Tensile Deformation

In the present research, damage mechanisms during room temperature uniaxial tensile testing of two different modern high strength dual phase steels,DP780 and DP980, were studied. Detailed microstructural characterization of the strained and sectioned samples was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results revealed that interface decohesion, especially at the triple junctions of...

Giant effect of uniaxial pressure on magnetic domain populations in multiferroic bismuth ferrite.

Neutron diffraction is used to show that small (∼7 MPa, or 70 bar) uniaxial pressure produces significant changes in the populations of magnetic domains in a single crystal of 2% Nd-doped bismuth ferrite. The magnetic easy plane of the domains converted by the pressure is rotated 60° relative to its original position. These results demonstrate extreme sensitivity of the magnetic properties of m...

Microwave and MM-wave magnetoelectric interactions in ferrite-ferroelectric bilayers

Measurements of the strength of magnetoelectric (ME) interactions at microwave and millimeterwave frequencies have been carried out on layered ferrite-piezoelectric oxides. An electric field E applied to the composite produces a mechanical deformation, resulting in a field shift δHE or a frequency shift δfE in the resonance. A stripline structure or a cavity resonator was used. The strength of ...

Investigating the Effect of Specimen Diameter Size on Uniaxial Compressive Strength and Elastic Properties of Travertines

Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and elastic properties of rocks play a major and vital role for the design of any engineering structure. The specimen diameter size is one of the main factors that influencing on UCS, elasticity modulus and Poisson’s ratio (E and υ). Here, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of specimen diameter size on UCS, E and υ. Moreover, we studied the co...
